Doxycycline.
Doxycycline is a medicine efficient in the treatment of infections caused by bacteria, such as gonorrhea, urinary tract infections, acne, and number of other ones as recommended by your health care provider. Doxycycline is not supposed to be given to anyone younger than 8 as it may cause permanent yellowing or graying of teeth later in life. Never take doxycycline past its expiration date, as it can cause damage to your kidneys. Doxycycline can affect the health of an unborn baby and can affect the efficiency of hormonal methods of birth control. Always make sure you use an additional non-hormonal birth control method to avoid a pregnancy. Since doxycycline can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, it's important that you avoid staying in the sun. If you have to stay outside for quite some time and it's sunny – make sure to apply sunscreen to protect your skin. Serious side effects of doxycycline are unlikely but sill possible and can include any of the following: dizziness, loss of appetite, severe headache, pale or yellowed skin, red skin rash, blurred vision, confusion or weakness, easy bruising or bleeding, and unusual weakness. A few mild side effects re possible when using doxycycline and they are not supposed to be reported as they go away on their own: vomiting, mild nausea, vaginal itching, diarrhea, trouble swallowing, stomach up, and swollen tongue are among them.
